Since my kid sister is getting married in a few short weeks, family members are starting to say those crazy things to me like "So, are you dating anyone?" and "Oh don't worry, you'll find someone when the time is right" but it just reaffirmed my belief that this entire country is so obsessed with everyone having to settle down & mate - that they're forgotten how archaic and almost obsolete this tradition is!

Now, don't get me wrong I'm very happy for my sister, and anyone else who i know and love that gets married but why do people feel the need to push this outdated ritual as the ultimate point of happiness?  Maybe, just maybe world it isn't for everyone.  

Would i mind being married? No, not really.  But do I feel the need or urge to? No Way! I'd much rather live in sin until death do us part because then, at any moment, either one of us could just call it a day and walk away from it.

And don't even get me started on kids.  I love em, i do, my nieces and nephews are AWESOME.  But at almost 32 years old the last thing in the world I want to do is put that kind of stress on me or my body.  Besides there are so many awesome kids who need a home!

So America - stop.  Stop trying to force some bullshit down my throat about how you think i need a relationship to define me or my life.  Take your relationships and shove em.  And try not to be jealous when you see how much more fun i'm having...
